Inspired by the rich legacy of Akashi City in Hyogo Prefecture, Akashi Museum Gold is a special edition ink from the renowned Kobe INK Monogatari series. Akashi is a city steeped in history, featured in ancient literary works such as the Manyoshu and The Tale of Genji. Today, it is known as the city through which Japan’s meridian of standard time—the Shigosen—passes, as well as a culinary hub famous for its Akashi sea bream and vibrant Uonotana fish market.

At the heart of the city lies the Akashi City Museum of Culture, opened in 1991 to celebrate Akashi's heritage. One of its most iconic exhibits is the fossil of the Akashi-zou, an ancient elephant discovered in strata dating back two million years—evidence that Akashi has long been a land where life flourishes.
