Shachihata 100th Anniversary Ink Pad- Iromoyo 1925, Limited Edition

I am so glad I came across this stamp pad brand. They work great with the Tomoe River S paper in my Techo Original. The colors are great. I love supporting The Pinky Elephant shop.

I own half dozen of Shachihata ink pads and they all work superbly with lovely colors and deep opacity. The pad fabric is smooth yet plump and moist. It is oil a base ink & takes a bit longer to dry but is permanent and works great in conjunction with watercolor. The particular ink tin lid lacks a gasket and doesn’t actually seal nor will it secure closed or latch to bottom of tin. Without a properly closing lid I am concerned the ink pad will be dry out quickly and this is my reason for 4 stars vs 5.

The color is gorgeous and vibrant! The case is beautiful and so antique feeling. The only down side of this box is that the lid doesn’t close and you need to keep it in its original package so the lid doesn’t open up accidentally. Other than than, the quality of the ink is super!
